MY EXPERIENCE ON MY BLOG

THIS EXERCISE WAS A VERY FUN ONE. I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE INTERESTING AND FUNNY FACTS TO MY PEERS, I GOT THE CHANCE TO ENLIGHTEN THEIR MINDS A LITTLE AND TO EXPRESS MYSELF FREE, BUT YET KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL! IT WAS ALSO EDUCATIONAL BECAUSE IT WAS A SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT AND I LEARNT TO USE A LITTLE MORE TECHNOLOGY!
I AM GRATEFUL TO MS. COOPER FOR GIVING US THIS EXERCISE AND KEEP BEING THAT VIBRANT, OUTGOING, EASY GOING PERSON THAT YOU ARE. REAL TEACHERS MAKE IT EASY TO SPEAK TO THEM, TO LEARN IN A COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT AND INTERESTING WAYS THAT STUDENT WILL REMEMBER THE EXERCISE AND I FELT THAT THIS WAS BEING DONE IN YOUR CLASS!

HOW TO TELL IF YOU ARE A REAL TEACHER....WINK:p (Not rude, but humorous)

Real teachers grade papers in the car, during commercials, in faculty meetings, in the bathroom, and (at the end of the six weeks) have been seen grading in church.

Real teachers cheer when they hear April 1 does not fall on a school day.

Real teachers clutch a pencil while thinking and make notes in the margins of books.

Real teachers can't walk past a crowd of kids without straightening up the line.

Real teachers never sit down without first checking the seat of the chair.

Real teachers have disjointed necks from writing on boards without turning their backs on the class.

Real teachers are written up in medical journals for the size and elasticity of kidneys and bladders.

Real teachers have been timed gulping down a full lunch in 2 minutes, 18 seconds. Master teachers can eat faster than that.

Real teachers can predict exactly which parents will show up at Open House.

Read teachers volunteer for hall duty on days faculty meetings are scheduled.

Real teachers never teach the conjugations of lie and lie to their students.

Real teachers know it is better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.

Real teachers know the best end of semester lesson plans can come from Blockbuster.

Real teachers never take grades after Wednesday of the last week of the six weeks.

Real teachers never assign research papers on the last six weeks or essays on final exams.

Real teachers know the shortest distance and the length of travel time from their classroom to the office.

Read teachers can "sense" gum.

Real teachers know the difference among what must be graded, what ought to be graded, and what probably should never again see the light of day.

Real teachers are solely responsible for the destruction of the rain forest.

Real teachers have their best conferences in the parking lot.

Real teachers have never heard an original excuse.

Real teachers buy Excedrin and Advil.

Real teachers will eat anything that is put in the workroom/teacher's lounge.

Real teachers have the assistant principals' and counselors' home phone numbers.

Real teachers know secretaries and custodians run the school.

Real teachers know the rules don't really apply to them.

Real teachers hear the heartbeats of crisis; always have time to listen; know they teach students, not subjects; and they are absolutely non-expendable.

Nicole's Note: I think this is so funny and I'm sure we can relate seeing some of these behaviors from our teachers. We should start appreciating them more, because they do a lot for us and we indeed make them have to buy Advil and Excedrin lol. Aye i do appreciate them although they pile us up with work:(

DETERMINATION AND STRENGTH...True Life Story

Full Effort is Full Victory

--by Eknath Eswaran (May 10, 2011)

Gandhi wanted so deeply to help the world that he dedicated his life to siphoning every trace of self-interest out of his heart and mind, leaving them pure, radiantly healthy, and free to love. It took him nearly twenty years to gain such control of his thinking process, but with every day of demanding effort he discovered a little more of the deep resources that are within us all: unassuming leadership, eloquence, and an endless capacity for selfless service.
When he was in South Africa, Gandhi sometimes would walk fifty miles a day and sleep only a few hours a night. Even into his seventies he wrote hundreds of letters every week; when his right hand got tired, he learned to write with his left. Once, while he was writing a letter, the lantern failed. Most of us would have quit and gone to bed, but Gandhi, aware of how much his reply meant to those who had written him, went outside and finished his correspondence by moonlight. That kind of drive gives a glimpse of the wellspring of vitality he tapped every day. If we were asked to live like this, we would say, "Impossible!" Gandhi would object, "Oh, no. It is possible, when your mind is flooded with love for all."

Late in Gandhi's life a Western journalist asked, "Mr. Gandhi, you've been working fifteen hours a day for fifty years. Don't you ever feel like taking a few weeks off and going for a vacation?" Gandhi laughed and said, "Why? I am always on vacation." Because he had no personal irons in the fire, no selfish concerns involved in his work, there was no conflict in his mind to drain his energy. He had just one overwhelming desire -- an ambition that, like a bonfire, had consumed all his passion. This world-famous figure, who could have been prime minister of India and one of the wealthiest men in Asia, declared he had no interest in becoming rich or famous. He wanted something far greater, he said: to become zero, to place all his talents, resources, time, and energy in a trust for the world.

"Full effort is full victory," said Gandhi. You need not be troubled if you have made mistakes, or if your ideal has slipped away. Just continue to give your best. If you fall, pick yourself up and march on. If you cannot run, walk. If you cannot walk, crawl. Nothing in life is more joyful or more thrilling. The effort alone brings a continuing wave of joy in which every personal problem, every suffering and humiliation, is forgotten.

Nicole's Note: NEVER Give up in life, be determined and know that you can do and be who you want to be! Know that you should learn to love others, never let anyone put you down or have power over you, practice to perfect the proper uses of your skills, give your best, do your best and know that we all make mistakes but they only make us stronger. I personally take mistakes as a learning experience and remind myself never to do them again. Nobody is perfect, but we can strive to do the best in everything and never put someone above you or as better than you are!! Believe you are the best (but don't be arrogant or egotistic), believe you can do and be whatever you want and by believing, it will come through!! :)

Leo Baby

To all those Leo people:

Nicole's Note: Thought this is pretty funny but yet true! Be proud of your traits, characteristics, personality and always remember to be you and do you!!!

Mothers Day

Mothers Day is actually the 11th of May, but will be celebrated on the 9th of his year, 2011. REMEMBER to wish your moms, grandmas, great grans, aunts, grand aunts, and sisters, cousins, female friends, teachers who are moms a HAPPY Mothers Day and tell them how much you love and appreciate them! Give them a little gift if possible. Yes, they may know that you care, but a lil reminder always brings warmth to the heart and a smile on the face!
